Cross Section Music
The label itself was originally founded by Lorraine Burrell (R.I.P.) in the city of London back in 1993. It was a platform for Chris Simmonds and his fellow music friends to promote themselves and their music on a very casual basis.
Since then the music policy delivered a bright selection of House music with a strong affection for the motion supportive drive of Chicago and Detroit club music while always dealing with a timeless approach to vintage jazz, funk and disco elements with Chris Simmonds being the major influence on the sound of the label.
During that time the label has become a musical home for further producers like Mike Huckaby, Tim Deluxe, DJ Sneak, Arturo Garces, Jade Cox, The Crazy Brazillian, Magoo, The Diggers, Bakers Dozen, Private Funk, Shuffle, Matt Jones, Ray Gibbons, Mark Jones and Keynote Productions plus countless unreleased projects that are to be released in the near future exclusively from this website!
The focus of Cross Section Music is capturing, plus developing the moment in the studio and then transforming the music to good energy for the DJs, clubs and House music movement.
In the words of Chris Simmonds “I have seen many things and grown through many trends, over the past 3 decades and I have been prepared to make the most of the opportunities when they come. I would like to thank everyone that has been a part of the journey so far especially my business partners, my family, close friends and continued supporters”.
